Players from Brøndby Women recently participated in an exciting RKT Brøndby IF training session, providing a unique opportunity for a group of young girls to experience a day on the pitch like no other.
Empowering Young Female Footballers
The RKT training program brings together top players from partner clubs in the U10 to U13 age groups, creating an enriching environment for young athletes. During last Friday’s session, first-team players engaged in drills and collaborated with regular RKT staff as co-coaches, offering invaluable feedback and practical guidance to the participants.
Noah Bach-Marklund, the program’s football lead, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in connecting youth development pathways to the women’s team. By fostering such relationships, RKT aims to build stronger foundations for girls’ football. The initiative not only enhances skill development but also provides young female players with the experiences and role models they need to stay engaged and continue progressing in the sport.
The training session featured a game-style setup with 54 eager participants divided into teams for a series of matches, where the Brøndby Women players took on the role of team coaches. The atmosphere was vibrant and supportive across all fields, creating a memorable experience for everyone involved.
Young participants expressed their excitement about the training. A 9-year-old from Ølstykke FC noted the encouragement and clear positional advice she received, which boosted her confidence. Another 9-year-old from Brøndby IF shared that she learned a lot from the day, particularly about the importance of communication on the field to enhance teamwork.
The training session concluded with a group photo and autographs, leaving lasting memories for the young players. Midfielder Hafrun Halldorsdottir remarked on the impressive talent within the group and the enjoyable atmosphere throughout the session. Such initiatives not only inspire young girls to pursue football but also contribute to the growth of women’s sports overall.
