Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski have secured a place at the Nitto ATP Finals, becoming the fifth doubles team confirmed for this year’s season-ending event. The British pair, playing their first full season together, will make their team debut at the Finals in Turin from 9-16 November at the Inalpi Arena.
Historic Journey of Salisbury and Skupski
They are the second all-British duo to qualify, joining Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool. Salisbury has extensive experience at the year-end championships, having competed with Rajeev Ram from 2019 to 2023 and lifting the trophy in both 2022 and 2023. Skupski qualified in 2022 and 2023 with Wesley Koolhof, reaching the semi-finals in 2022.
Their results this season include five finals, among them runner-up finishes at Roland Garros and the US Open. They also reached the final at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Toronto, contested ATP 500 title matches in Doha and Barcelona, and made Masters 1000 semi-finals in Rome and Cincinnati.
Four other teams have already qualified: Cash/Glasspool, Marcel Granollers/Horacio Zeballos, Marcelo Arevalo/Mate Pavic, and Harri Heliovaara/Henry Patten. Three spots remain open for the eight-team doubles field in Turin.
As the ATP Finals approach, fans are excited to see how Salisbury and Skupski will perform on such a prestigious stage. Their strong record this season indicates they are a formidable team, poised to make a significant impact in the tournament. Whether they can replicate their strong performances from earlier in the year remains to be seen, but their journey to the Finals has certainly captured the attention of tennis enthusiasts worldwide.
