Lyngby Boldklub visits schools to promote road safety on this year’s Reflector Day

On Thursday morning, Lyngby Boldklub visited four local schools to raise awareness about staying visible in traffic during the darker months. This important initiative aims to ensure the safety of children and other vulnerable road users as daylight hours diminish.

Promoting Safety on Annual Reflector Day

Marking Annual Reflector Day, the club handed out reflectors and match tickets to students at Kongevejens Skole, Engelsborgskolen, Trongårdsskolen, and Lindegårdsskolen. During this event, the players discussed the significance of visibility on the roads, particularly in the autumn and winter months when it gets darker earlier.

Two first-team players took part at each stop. They not only helped distribute the reflectors but also interacted with students, encouraging them to be mindful of their visibility while traveling. The players posed for photos, creating memorable moments that reinforced the message of road safety.

Annual Reflector Day takes place on the last Thursday in October. This initiative was launched by Børneulykkesfonden, an organization dedicated to promoting safety for children and other vulnerable road users. By distributing reflectors, the event aims to reduce accidents and ensure that children are seen by drivers, especially during the darker months.

Events like Annual Reflector Day are crucial in fostering a culture of safety within communities. Schools and local organizations can collaborate to educate students about the importance of being visible on the roads. Whether it’s wearing reflective clothing, using lights on bicycles, or carrying reflectors, these small actions can make a significant difference in enhancing safety.

Through the efforts of Lyngby Boldklub and the support of local schools, the message of traffic safety is spread effectively. Parents are encouraged to talk to their children about the importance of being seen and staying safe while navigating their neighborhoods. Together, we can make our roads safer for everyone.
