Brøndby and Randers share the points in a goalless spring opener at Brøndby Stadium

Brøndby opened the spring campaign with a 0-0 draw at home to Randers FC on Sunday evening at Brøndby Stadium.

The hosts handed starts to winter arrivals Ben Godfrey, Mads Frøkjær, Ousmane Sow, and Bartosz Slisz, while Emmanuel Dennis and Mayckel Lahdo came on in the second half. Academy prospect Viggo Poulsen also made his first start, taking up the left flank under head coach Steve Cooper.

Match Highlights and Key Performers

The match was evenly balanced, with both sides enjoying brief spells of pressure. Around the half-hour mark, Randers forward Warren Caddy failed to convert a close-range header. After the break, center-back Daniel Høegh came closest for the visitors, directing a header onto the crossbar from a corner.

Brøndby grew stronger in the final half-hour, pushing Randers back for extended periods. With about 10 minutes remaining, substitute Nicolai Vallys met a cross with a close-range header, only for Randers goalkeeper Poul Izzo to keep it out with a reflex foot save.

The stalemate leaves both teams with a point to start the post-winter portion of the season. Brøndby will look to build on this performance in their upcoming matches, focusing on converting chances into goals to secure vital points in the league.

As the spring season progresses, fans are eager to see how the new signings will adapt and contribute to the team’s success. The competition remains fierce, and every match will be crucial for Brøndby’s ambitions in the league.
