Denmark’s best female chess players compete for the Danish Championship title in Copenhagen in February 2026

Denmark’s leading women chess players will come together in Copenhagen from February 11 to 15 for the highly anticipated 2026 Danish Women’s Championship. This prestigious five-day event is organized by the Danish Chess Union and hosted by the ØBRO Chess Club.

Championship Schedule and Participants

A late withdrawal due to illness means that the tournament will include a bye. Below is the detailed schedule for the event (all times are in local time):

  • Wednesday, February 11: Round 1 at 10:00, Round 2 at 17:00
  • Thursday, February 12: Round 3 at 10:00, Round 4 at 17:00
  • Friday, February 13: Round 5 at 10:00, Round 6 at 17:00
  • Saturday, February 14: Round 7 at 10:00, Round 8 at 17:00
  • Sunday, February 15: Round 9 at 12:00

The champion of the 2026 Danish Women’s Championship will be awarded 6,000 kroner, the esteemed national title, and a guaranteed spot on the women’s national team. For those unable to attend in person, games will be available online with a 10-minute delay, allowing chess enthusiasts to follow the action as it unfolds.
