Startblokken at Lyngby Boldklub recently hosted a significant visit from four prominent politicians who gathered for coffee, cake, and engaging discussions with the young individuals participating in the program. Among the attendees was Minister of Culture Jakob Engel-Schmidt of the Moderates, along with Magnus Barsøe of the Social Democrats, Sigurd Agersnap of the Socialist People’s Party, and Magnus Von Dreiager of the Conservative People’s Party. This gathering provided an opportunity for the politicians to witness firsthand how the club’s social initiative is instrumental in guiding young people towards education, internships, or employment.

During the visit, several participants shared their personal challenges and recounted how the Startblokken project has equipped them with structure, community, and new opportunities. Launched in 2024, Startblokken serves as Lyngby Boldklub’s primary social initiative, operating in partnership with Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality and the National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark. This initiative is part of a larger effort that encompasses 11 similar clusters nationwide. Over the past year, 33 young people have engaged with the Lyngby program, with 21 participants successfully transitioning into education, employment, or internships aimed at job readiness.
