AGF Women has made a significant addition to their squad by signing 23-year-old winger and forward Mathilde Braithwaite on a deal that runs until the summer of 2028. This move aims to bolster the A-Liga first team’s attacking options as they gear up for the medal round.

Mathilde Braithwaite’s Impressive Background

Braithwaite arrives at AGF after a successful collegiate career at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Her time in the United States has not only honed her skills but also allowed her to develop physically, preparing her for the competitive landscape of Danish football. Before her stint in the U.S., she showcased her talent with Varde IF and Kolding Q, where she made notable appearances in Denmark’s top division.

The club recognizes Braithwaite as a remarkable talent, one who demonstrated considerable potential before her journey abroad. Her experiences at Hofstra have equipped her with the technical and tactical knowledge necessary to make an impact in the A-Liga. As AGF gears up for the upcoming matches, her arrival is expected to provide additional depth and versatility to the attacking lineup.

Hailing from Esbjerg, Mathilde is not only making a name for herself but is also the younger sister of former Denmark international Martin Braithwaite. Additionally, she has represented Denmark at the U16 level, showcasing her early promise in the sport.

With her signing, AGF Women is optimistic about the contributions Braithwaite will make on the field. She is set to join the squad immediately and could potentially make her debut next Tuesday when AGF hosts Fortuna Hjørring at Ceres Park Vejby. Fans are eagerly anticipating her performance as she looks to make a significant impact in her new role.
