Esbjerg fB has once again received 3.5 stars in the Danish FA’s club licensing assessment, ensuring the club’s boys’ academy teams remain at the highest national level. The rating places EfB among a small number of Betinia Liga clubs with league status at academy level.

Commitment to Youth Development

The decision covers the U15, U17, and U19 age groups, guaranteeing those squads will continue to compete against the country’s top development programs. The club views the result as recognition of the daily work at its academy on Gl. Vardevej and as confirmation of its plan to develop homegrown players for the first team at Blue Water Arena. Talent chief Anders Brynaa said the outcome reflects the efforts of staff and the club’s continued position in Danish talent development.

EfB describes the academy as a core part of its strategy, aiming for strong youth results while building a clear pathway to senior football. The club is working to align playing philosophy and methods across the academy and first team to make the step from youth to senior level as seamless as possible.

Over the past year, EfB has launched several initiatives to strengthen its training environment, structure, and approach to player development. Some measures are already in place, with more to follow, and the club expects further progress that is not yet reflected in the current DBU audit.

EfB also continues to collaborate with partner clubs through the South West Jutland Football Cooperation to develop local talent and support the regional game. This partnership enhances the club’s ability to nurture young players while fostering a strong football community.

Internally, the new DBU rating is seen as both an endorsement of the academy’s current level and a signal to keep investing in future players. With a dedicated focus on youth development, Esbjerg fB is poised to make a significant impact in Denmark’s football landscape.
