Luke Littler captured his second Premier League Darts crown with an 11-10 victory over Luke Humphries at a sold-out O2 Arena in London. The 19-year-old becomes only the fourth player to lift the Premier League trophy more than once, joining legends Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen, and Gary Anderson. This thrilling match marked the third consecutive season that the two Lukes met in the final, with Littler emerging victorious for the second time.
Finals Night Highlights
Humphries started the final strong, showcasing his skill with back-to-back 13-darters and establishing a 6-3 lead. However, Littler responded with a surge, moving ahead 7-6 and setting up a tense finish. At 9-9, he strung together seven perfect darts and completed a remarkable 10-dart leg to break Humphries’ throw. Despite this, Humphries leveled the score at 10-10 with a precise 68 checkout on double four. In the deciding leg, Littler experienced a brief moment of faltering after missing the big 14, but ultimately sealed the title on tops with his only match dart, finishing with an impressive average of 111.67.
Finals Night pushed the excitement to the limit, as for the first time, all 59 legs scheduled across the evening were played out. In the first semifinal, Gerwyn Price made a remarkable comeback from a 4-9 deficit, but Littler managed to close it out. The second semifinal saw Jonny Clayton miss a crucial match dart, allowing Humphries to secure his place in the final.
This triumph continues a standout year for Littler. The Premier League title adds to his impressive list of achievements, which already includes the World Championship, World Masters, and UK Open, giving him four major titles in just one season. He is also set to represent England alongside Humphries at the World Cup of Darts from June 11–14 as the top-seeded pair.
Littler’s journey this season was marked by a remarkable recovery after a slow start. He found himself near the bottom of the table after four weeks but turned his performance around, winning his first night in Week Five and building momentum to finish the season with the trophy. This impressive comeback highlights his resilience and skill as a leading contender in the world of darts.
