Team World’s Roster for the Laver Cup 2023
Team World captain Andre Agassi has completed his roster for this year’s Laver Cup, adding Americans Learner Tien and Tommy Paul for the three-day event at The O2 in London from 25 to 27 September. The defending champions will also field Ben Shelton, Alex de Minaur, Taylor Fritz, and Alexander Bublik. Agassi led Team World to victory in his first year as captain in San Francisco last season.
Tien, a left-hander, will make his Laver Cup debut and arrives at a career-high No. 18 in the PIF ATP Rankings. He has described the selection as a major milestone and is eager for the team format. Paul, a former Top 10 player and currently ranked No. 24, previously served as an alternate in London in 2022 and competed in Vancouver in 2023, with Team World winning both editions. He said he is enthusiastic about returning to the lineup after missing the chance to play under Agassi and Pat Rafter in San Francisco.
On current form, Team World enters with the higher collective standing by PIF ATP Rankings. Team Europe, captained by Yannick Noah, so far includes Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Flavio Cobolli, and Jakub Mensik. As the event draws near, fans are eager to see how Team World will perform against a strong European lineup.
With a mix of seasoned players and fresh talent, the 2023 Laver Cup promises to deliver thrilling matches and unforgettable moments. Keep an eye on the performance of Learner Tien as he steps onto the big stage for the first time, alongside the experienced Tommy Paul. The competition is heating up, and the excitement is palpable as the date approaches!
