Søren Kristensen has been appointed chief executive of Brøndby IF and will take up the role no later than September 1. He previously spent six years as CEO of FC Nordsjælland and most recently held a similar position at the Hotel and Restaurant School.
Brøndby IF’s Vision for the Future
According to the club, the board conducted a months-long search for a leader who understands both the game and the demands of running a modern, complex organization. Chair Jan Bech Andersen pointed to Kristensen’s experience guiding teams through development and change, along with the calm judgment needed to lead a high-profile Danish club. The board emphasized his values-driven approach, noting that while he has a strong commercial background, he also recognizes that a football club is built on culture, people, and identity. They highlighted his ability to navigate a wide range of stakeholders and to build trust through open and responsible leadership.
Brøndby IF underscored that closer cooperation between its sporting and commercial operations will be a priority, and it expects Kristensen to strengthen that alignment and set a unified direction for the organization in the years ahead. This focus on collaboration aims to enhance the club’s performance both on and off the pitch.
Kristensen described the move as the start of a new chapter at a club with a strong identity and community. He said he looks forward to meeting staff and partners and to building on the existing foundation, citing capable employees, a refreshed sporting setup with a new head coach, engaged partners, and committed supporters as key strengths to develop further. His vision aligns with Brøndby IF’s commitment to fostering a winning culture and enhancing community engagement.
As he steps into this pivotal role, Kristensen is poised to lead Brøndby IF into a new era, focusing on both sporting success and the club’s deep-rooted cultural values. With a clear strategy and a commitment to collaboration, the future looks promising for the club under his leadership.
