Lyngby Boldklub secures Oliver Højer from FC Copenhagen on a loan deal until 2027

Lyngby Boldklub has made a significant addition to their squad by signing 19-year-old central midfielder Oliver Højer on a loan deal from FC Copenhagen. This agreement, which runs until the summer of 2027, is effective immediately, allowing Højer to join the club’s Superliga squad without delay.

The announcement was made public on the same day Højer successfully completed his medical examination in the morning. Shortly after, he participated in his first training session with his new teammates, marking the beginning of an exciting chapter in his career.

Oliver Højer: A Family Legacy

Oliver Højer is not just another player to Lyngby supporters; he carries a family legacy with him. His older brother, Casper Højer, has a history with the club, having played for over three years starting from the summer of 2014. This connection has allowed Oliver to become familiar with the club, as he often watched his brother from the stands, eagerly anticipating the day he could don the royal blue shirt himself. Now, with this loan move, the family is set to switch roles, with Oliver stepping onto the pitch where his brother once played.

This transfer is a strategic move for Lyngby, reflecting their broader squad planning for the upcoming Superliga season. The club sees Højer as a talented and motivated player who fits well within their group dynamics. Although loans typically may not be the primary focus of Lyngby’s transfer strategy, the financial terms of this agreement, coupled with the opportunity to acquire a player of Højer’s caliber, have made this decision a sensible exception.

During his time at FC Copenhagen, Højer made 13 appearances for the first team and found the back of the net once. As he transitions into his new role, fans are eager to see how he will perform in Lyngby colors. His next opportunity to shine could come soon, as the club is set to kick off the Superliga season on Sunday, 26 July.
