William Lykke loaned to Esbjerg fB for the 2027 season

FC Nordsjælland has sent 21-year-old goalkeeper William Lykke on loan to Esbjerg fB for the 2026–27 season, with the agreement running until the summer of 2027. Esbjerg fB competes in the Betinia Liga and is based in southwest Jutland.

Lykke spent the spring on loan at Swedish side Halmstads BK. He has made seven Superliga appearances for FC Nordsjælland and remains under contract with the club until the summer of 2029.

William Lykke’s Development Path

According to FC Nordsjælland, Lykke returned to Farum for the start of preseason and showed his quality, but the club wants him to get regular first-team action. With the goalkeeping group otherwise settled for the coming campaign, a new loan was deemed the best solution. The club expects the move to Esbjerg to provide valuable experience and plenty of minutes and plans to follow his development closely.

This loan move marks another step in Lykke’s journey as he seeks to establish himself in professional football. Playing for Esbjerg fB will offer him the opportunity to hone his skills in a competitive environment. Regular first-team action is crucial for any young goalkeeper, and this experience could be vital for Lykke’s growth as a player.

Esbjerg fB, with its rich history and commitment to developing talent, provides the perfect platform for Lykke to showcase his abilities. Fans can look forward to seeing how he adapts to the challenges of the Betinia Liga while continuing to develop under the guidance of experienced coaches.

As the 2026–27 season progresses, both FC Nordsjælland and Esbjerg fB will keep a close eye on Lykke’s performances, hoping this loan will be a fruitful experience that benefits both the player and the clubs involved.
