The Carolina Hurricanes have made history by being added to the Stanley Cup for the second time, with their impressive victory over the Vegas Golden Knights in a six-game series. This momentous occasion was celebrated as the names of the 2025-26 champions were engraved on the prestigious trophy this week.

Key Figures Behind the Victory

Leading the list of names on the Cup is owner Tom Dundon, followed closely by CEO Brian Fork, general manager Eric Tulsky, and head coach Rod Brind’Amour. Notably, Brind’Amour’s name now appears on the trophy for a second time, having previously captained the team to its first championship in 2006.

Another significant name is captain Jordan Staal, who also earns his place on the trophy for the second time, following his previous title with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2009. Additionally, forward William Carrier stands out as the only other Hurricanes player to have his name engraved twice, adding this recent achievement to his 2023 championship with the Golden Knights.

The remaining 20 players on the roster, including goaltender Frederik Andersen and veteran forwards Sebastian Aho and Jordan Martinook, are first-time engravings on the Stanley Cup. This diverse mix of experience showcases the depth and talent of the Hurricanes’ lineup that led them to this incredible victory.

For the fourth consecutive year, the engraving of the names on the Cup was completed ahead of the team’s summer celebrations. Fans can anticipate the Stanley Cup’s tour, which kicks off on Saturday, July 11. Notably, Carrier is set to host the trophy in his hometown of Montreal, adding a personal touch to an already thrilling celebration.

The Carolina Hurricanes have solidified their place in hockey history, and this championship win is sure to inspire future generations of players and fans alike. With a strong roster and a dedicated management team, the Hurricanes are poised for continued success in the years to come.
