FCM Women crush Kolding 7-0 in a friendly at Autocentralen Park

After four days of preseason training, FC Midtjylland’s women’s team traveled to Kolding on Friday for their first warm-up match and won 7-0 in a game played over three 26-minute periods. The match was played under bright sunshine at Autocentralen Park.

Match Highlights and Performance Analysis

The visitors struck almost immediately, capitalizing on a high press that produced a loose ball for Maria Herdel to finish for 1-0. Soon after, Herdel set up Emma Nielsen with a low delivery, and Nielsen turned it in for 2-0. Around the 20-minute mark, a corner from Josefine Uhd found new signing Sofie Vendelbo, who headed in for 3-0, which stood at the first break.

The second period was more even, with chances at both ends. Hannah Fruensgaard went close for Midtjylland when her long-range effort hit the post. In the final minute of the period, another corner made it 4-0: Fruensgaard swung the ball in and Anna Givskov headed home before the teams paused again.

In the third segment, Givskov turned provider, releasing Mathilde Kaihøj from her own half. Kaihøj skipped past a defender and finished at the near post for 5-0. A swift transition brought the sixth, as Tervie Umwe drove forward and found Uhd, who cut inside and struck low into the far corner. Late on, Kaihøj played Givskov through one-on-one, and Givskov scored again to complete the 7-0 scoreline.

Midtjylland used the outing to trial a new system, produced several sharp attacking moves, and gave minutes to a broad group of players. This dominant performance not only boosts morale but also provides valuable insights into the team dynamics as they prepare for the upcoming season.

The next test is against Fortuna Hjørring on Monday at 16:00 in Vildbjerg. The first A-Liga match is scheduled for Saturday, 25 July at 13:00, when Brøndby IF visit MCH Arena. Fans are eagerly anticipating these matches as the team looks to build on this impressive warm-up victory.
