AGF has moved part of its preseason to Belgium, setting up in Tubize, just south of Brussels, as preparations for the new Superliga campaign gather pace. This strategic move allows the team to enhance their training regimen and gain valuable experience ahead of the competitive season.
Training and Friendly Matches in Belgium
The squad arrived late Thursday and held its first session in warm conditions. Training continues Friday at Proximus Basecamp, the Belgian football association’s facility, where the team will work out twice before playing its third preseason friendly of the summer. The match against Union Saint-Gilloise is scheduled for Saturday, 11 July at 14:00.
Not all players made the trip. Nicolai Poulsen and Rasmus Carstensen remained in Aarhus to continue rehabilitation, and Luka Callø also stayed behind after taking a knock in the previous match, ruling him out for Saturday.
The staff is using the camp to test the team against international opposition. After a recent meeting with Motherwell, Union Saint-Gilloise is expected to provide another strong benchmark this weekend. Competing against a team with a solid reputation will be crucial for AGF as they aim to refine their tactics and strengthen team chemistry.
In addition to the rigorous training schedule, the friendly matches allow the coaching staff to assess player performance and make necessary adjustments before the official season kicks off. Such intense preparatory phases are essential for any team looking to compete at the highest levels of football.
As the Superliga season approaches, fans will be eager to see how AGF’s preseason efforts translate into success on the pitch. With a focus on player development and strategic gameplay, the team is poised to make a significant impact in the upcoming campaign.
