Martin Sahlertz becomes the new commercial director at Brøndby IF

Brøndby IF Appoints Martin Sahlertz as Chief Commercial Officer

Brøndby IF has promoted Martin Sahlertz to Chief Commercial Officer after two years as Director of Sales & Business Development. He will report to Chief Executive Søren Kristensen. This strategic change is part of a continued build-out of the club’s commercial organization, which has experienced notable growth in recent years.

In his new role, Sahlertz will lead the overall commercial strategy and business development with a focus on long-term, sustainable growth. His responsibilities encompass partnerships, marketing, retail, ticketing, customer relationship management, and digital initiatives. The club has set a clear ambition to strengthen its market position and evolve into Scandinavia’s strongest and most innovative commercial football club.

Club leadership has described Sahlertz’s appointment as a response to the rising strategic importance of commercial activities. This move is also seen as a step to reinforce the top management team and enhance its ability to execute the commercial plan effectively.

Sahlertz has emphasized the club’s rich history, identity, and values as core assets that will guide its commercial strategy. His priorities include brand building and creating a consistent experience for fans, partners, and members across the stadium, social media, and digital platforms. He aims to reach the next generation of supporters, ensuring that Brøndby IF remains relevant and engaging in an evolving sports landscape. Furthermore, he indicated that the organization will outline its commercial ambitions and direction in more detail in the near future.

The promotion of Sahlertz coincides with Kasper Sloth Nielsen taking up the role of Operations Director on July 1. Nielsen brings over 15 years of leadership experience from the retail sector and, most recently, the pharmaceutical industry. He will also report to the CEO and oversee the club’s operations.

With Kristensen as CEO, Sahlertz as CCO, and Nielsen as Operations Director, Brøndby IF asserts that its senior leadership structure is now fully in place to support its sporting and commercial goals in the coming years. This cohesive leadership team is dedicated to driving the club’s success and expanding its influence in the football world.
