Brøndby IF has named its new youth football event series Brøndby Kamparena, with the first major festival scheduled for Saturday, 12 September at partner club Solrød FC.
Exciting Features of Brøndby Kamparena
The concept targets children in the U5–U8 age groups and is built around frequent, short games designed to maximize ball touches, goals, and involvement. Matches will be played on inflatable AirPitch fields that help keep the ball in play, and formats such as 2v2 and 3v3 are intended to reduce waiting time and keep every child close to the action.
Brøndby IF introduced the initiative in the spring alongside an investment in 10 new AirPitch pitches to create more positive football experiences for young players. Kamparena places the match itself at the center of the day without focusing on results. There is no overall winner and no elimination, and the emphasis is on play, decision-making and learning through many repeated situations on the ball.
The project is part of the Brøndby Masterclass Partnership and reflects its broader aim to build environments that make children want to play football while supporting their development. Small-sided games are a core element for that reason, giving each child more room to run with the ball, more opportunities to make choices with and without it, and more finishing and 1v1 moments.
Alongside the launch, Brøndby IF is opening a dedicated website for Kamparena that will explain the thinking behind the concept, outline game formats and the sporting approach, and provide practical information on participation, upcoming festivals, and registration. The site is intended to become the central hub as the program rolls out and expands to include both large event days and activities with partner clubs. Clubs in the partnership will also be able to explore options for hosting local Kamparena events.
The first major Kamparena will be staged with Solrød FC to underline that the concept is meant to live with partner clubs as well as around Brøndby IF. For the first two Kamparena festivals, REMA 1000 will act as sponsor and contribute products for participants as part of the event experience.
Over the season, the large Kamparena days will be supplemented by smaller tournaments and activities hosted by partner clubs. In this way, Brøndby Kamparena functions both as a new event format and as a framework for work with the youngest players across the Brøndby Masterclass Partnership.
