AC Horsens is on the lookout for a dedicated physiotherapist to join its Under-19 team, with a planned start date of October 1 or as soon as possible. This vital role is situated at the heart of the club’s oldest academy age group and involves close collaboration with U19 coaches and medical and performance staff across both the academy and the first team.
Key Responsibilities of the Physiotherapist
The successful candidate will be tasked with several key duties that are crucial for the well-being and performance of the players:
- Screening and Monitoring: Conduct weekly muscle tests, perform continuous assessments of player status, undertake monthly physical measurements, and plan necessary adjustments to training, recovery, and nutrition. Regular coordination with the U19 fitness coach and head coach is essential.
- Training and Match Support: Prepare players before sessions and games, provide injury prevention and physical assessments, deliver on-field acute care when necessary, and maintain ongoing follow-up with the coaching staff.
- Injury Management and Rehabilitation: Examine and treat injured players, develop individualized rehabilitation plans in coordination with the fitness coach, continuously track progress, and ensure structured return-to-play processes. This includes collaboration with relevant clinicians and performance colleagues, as well as thorough documentation of injuries and treatments.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Engage in weekly meetings with physiotherapists from both the academy and first team, contribute to a shared treatment and rehabilitation approach, and ensure clear communication among coaching, performance, and medical staff.
- Player Education: Conduct workshops and briefings on topics such as injury prevention, recovery, nutrition, hydration, sleep, lifestyle, physical development, performance, and instilling professional habits.
- Documentation and Individual Development Plans: Update player health and development data, contribute to injury status, rehab progress, and physical targets to each player’s individual development plan, and issue relevant status updates to players and staff.
The club is looking for a licensed physiotherapist who possesses an interest or experience in football, elite sport, or talent development. Ideal candidates should demonstrate motivation for prevention, rehabilitation, and physical performance; work in a structured and accountable manner; and effectively collaborate with players, coaches, clinicians, and performance staff.
The role offers an opportunity to be part of an ambitious academy focused on individual development and the pathway to AC Horsens’ first team. The successful applicant will work closely with promising prospects, operate within a multidisciplinary setup, and take a central role in players’ physical development as they transition to senior football.
Applications are being reviewed on a rolling basis, with interviews held continuously. The application deadline is Friday, September 4. Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a CV and cover letter to the club’s Head of Academy.
