Bjur joined Brøndby in the summer of 1991 from Vanløse IF and went on to build a long and distinguished career with the club. Before retiring in 2000, he made 384 appearances for Brøndby, including 284 in Denmark’s top division, where he scored 40 goals. Playing primarily on the right side, he was widely recognized for his strong technique, relentless work rate, and sharp game sense. He was part of the team that dominated Danish football in the 1990s, helping secure three league titles and two domestic cups.
In recognition of his talent, he was named Brøndby’s Player of the Year in 1994 and earned three caps for Denmark’s senior national team. His international debut came in 1996, when he scored the only goal in a victory over Sweden, further cementing his status as a skilled athlete.
After ending his professional career, Bjur continued to contribute to the club by playing for the Old Boys team. His connection with Brøndby was reestablished in 2010 when he joined the coaching setup on a consultancy basis. His leadership skills and passion for the game led him to become sporting director in 2011, a position he held until the summer of 2013.
