On his 15th birthday, defender Victor Smedegaard Hvid signed a three-year academy contract with OB that runs until the summer of 2029. This milestone marks an important step in his journey as a young athlete.

Victor Hvid’s Journey at OB

Hvid joined OB from Sanderum Boldklub in May 2020 as an under-9 player and has progressively advanced through the club’s youth system. He views the new deal as recognition of his hard work and dedication thus far, while it also brings higher expectations both on and off the field. His focus remains firmly on daily improvement, using training sessions and matches as vital opportunities to develop his skills. Short-term goals for Hvid include moving closer to the first team and, eventually, earning his senior debut.

OB’s academy director, Tonny Hermansen, highlighted Hvid as a prime example of the club’s commitment to nurturing talent through a homegrown pathway, enabling young players to progress from early youth levels to professional status. The club describes Hvid as a talented defender who has grown both physically and technically over the years. Recently, he has taken on more responsibility in organizing and communicating effectively with his teammates, showcasing his leadership qualities on the field.

The agreement is part of OB’s broader strategy to develop players from children’s football all the way to the senior level, emphasizing the importance of cultivating local talent. As Hvid continues to train and compete, he represents the bright future of OB’s academy, embodying the club’s vision for success and growth.

With the contract in effect through the summer of 2029, fans and supporters of OB can look forward to watching Victor Smedegaard Hvid’s journey unfold in the coming years, as he strives to make an impact on the pitch and contribute to the club’s legacy.
