Brøndby Kamparena debuts in Solrød with a focus on children’s enjoyment of football

The first Brøndby Kamparena took place over the weekend at partner club Solrød FC, drawing around 200 children from the under-6 to under-8 age groups onto inflatable pitches for a day packed with matches and football fun.

Across the day, about 550 people, including players, coaches, parents, and visitors, stopped by Solrød FC as the Brøndby Masterclass Collaboration’s new tournament concept was put into practice for the first time.

Exciting Format and Engagement

The format used small-sided games, short breaks, and pitches designed to keep the ball in play, which kept activity levels high and ensured plenty of touches, shots, and involvement for each child.

Organizers said it was rewarding to see the concept come to life after a long development phase. They reported strong feedback from coaches, parents, and players and noted they gathered useful lessons to improve future Kamparena events.

The project places the game itself ahead of results. There were no standings or winners, and the main goal was to create as many meaningful actions as possible for each player. According to the sports lead for partner clubs, the premiere showed high intensity, with many dribbles, shots, and moments that demanded quick decisions on the ball—exactly the skills the format aims to support for young players.

Success was measured by player activity and engagement rather than match outcomes, with organizers pointing to the energy around the pitches as a sign the event met its objectives.

Off the field, an event zone offered activities, competitions, and challenges between and after games, with prizes handed out during the day. The zone is intended to make Kamparena a full experience for players and families, and partners are involved in supporting that effort. For the first two events, REMA 1000 is participating as a partner and part of the participant package.

The Solrød tournament was the first large-scale rollout, and the concept is designed to work both at big festival-style days and in local club settings across the Brøndby Masterclass Collaboration. Organizers plan to refine the setup from event to event and aim to give many more children the chance to experience Brøndby Kamparena in the coming years.

Brøndby IF and the Brøndby Masterclass Collaboration thanked Solrød FC and all participating players, coaches, volunteers, and families for helping launch the initiative. This event not only fostered a love for the game but also built a strong community spirit among young athletes and their families.
