The 28-year-old forward set NHL career highs last season with 12 goals, 21 assists, and 33 points in 73 regular-season games. However, he was held without a point in six Stanley Cup Playoff appearances. This marked his third season with the Dallas Stars. Without this extension, he could have become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2027, making this contract crucial for both the player and the team.
