Lyngby Boldklub and Skjold Birkerød Launch the LB Alliance to Strengthen Women’s Football

LB Alliancen was officially launched Tuesday afternoon at Birkerød Idrætscenter, where clubs, municipalities, partners, and invited guests gathered to mark the start of a new girls’ football academy. This exciting initiative aims to foster talent and passion for girls’ football in the region.

Ambitious Goals for LB Alliancen

Following several months of preparation, Lyngby Boldklub and Skjold Birkerød presented the initiative. Representatives from the two clubs, together with Lyngby-Taarbæk Mayor Sofia Osmani and Rudersdal’s Culture and Leisure Committee chair Knud Skadborg, set out the ambitions for the project. The goal is not only to develop young athletes but also to create a supportive environment that empowers girls in sports.

Former national team player and Birkerød native Line Røddik also attended the launch, bringing her experience and enthusiasm to the event. Her involvement highlights the importance of role models in inspiring the next generation of female footballers.

Starting in 2027, the U16 and U19 teams will be the first to play under the LB Alliancen name, with Birkerød as their base. This strategic foundation will enable the teams to build a strong identity and community support. Moreover, work will intensify to build activities and development pathways across the clubs in the Blue Football Network (Det Blå Fodboldnetværk).

The establishment of LB Alliancen represents a significant step forward for women’s football in the area. By creating a structured academy, the initiative aims to nurture talent from a young age and provide opportunities for girls to develop their skills and pursue their passion for football. This academy will not only benefit the participants but also contribute to a more inclusive sports culture in the community.

With the support of local authorities and enthusiastic partners, LB Alliancen is poised to make a lasting impact on girls’ football, setting a positive example for other regions to follow.
