Casper Nielsen returns as assistant coach for the women's first team

A new face joined OB’s training ground on Tuesday evening, just after the close of the transfer window. Casper Nielsen has been appointed assistant coach to the women’s first team, strengthening the staff led by sports manager Peer Lisdorf.

Nielsen stepped into the role immediately at Tuesday’s session and will be attached to the squad for the rest of the autumn. His agreement runs until the end of the year.

Experience and Commitment to Team Growth

The 38-year-old returns to OB after previously working as a goalkeeper coach for the club’s oldest academy age groups. He comes back from neighboring Søhus IF, where over four years he helped build one of Funen’s largest women’s programs. He was recently recognized at the Fynsk Fodbold Award as Series Coach of the Year for his work at Søhus IF.

Nielsen says he is highly motivated to contribute, bringing 15 years of experience, and aims to strengthen team cohesion through strong relationships. Lisdorf welcomed the appointment, highlighting Nielsen’s experience and energy, and noting that his goalkeeping background can help tighten the connection between the back line and the goalkeeper in collaboration with goalkeeper coach Morten Hansen.

Nielsen is set to make his sideline debut tonight when OB travels to Zealand to face Næstved HG in the Women’s Cup. His addition to the coaching team not only brings depth but also a fresh perspective that can enhance the overall performance of the squad. With his proven track record and dedication, fans can look forward to an exciting season ahead.
