Evenepoel wins the second stage and dons the leader’s jersey at the 2026 UAE Tour

Remco Evenepoel of Red Bull–Bora–Hansgrohe showcased his incredible time trial skills by clinching victory in stage 2 of the UAE Tour, which is currently in its eighth edition. This stage featured an individual time trial covering a distance of 12.2 kilometers, and Evenepoel completed the course in an impressive 13 minutes and 03 seconds, achieving an average speed of 56.092 km/h. This outstanding performance not only secured him the stage win but also propelled him into the overall lead, earning him the coveted Red Jersey.

Stage 2 Results and Jersey Holders

According to the provisional timings from the race, Joshua Tarling of Ineos Grenadiers finished in second place, crossing the line just 6 seconds behind Evenepoel. Following closely behind, Remi Cavagna of Groupama–FDJ United secured third place, finishing 12 seconds after the stage winner. The results for stage 2 are as follows:

In addition to his Red Jersey for being the overall leader, Remco Evenepoel also holds the Green Jersey, awarded to the points leader. Meanwhile, Joshua Tarling, who has been making waves as a young talent in cycling, proudly wears the White Jersey for the best young rider. The Black Jersey, given to the leader of intermediate sprints, is currently held by Jonathan Milan of Lidl–Trek.
