Customers at Føtex Kolding City can now direct the deposit from returned bottles and cans to KIF Social. The supermarket has set its deposit-return machines so that proceeds from the donate option will go to the local initiative.
About KIF Social and Its Mission
KIF Social was launched in April 2024 by Kolding IF Football together with two former Fodbold for Fremtiden participants, Tobias and Camilita. The project runs a football team for vulnerable and socially disadvantaged young people in Kolding, aiming to provide safety, community, and positive experiences. Its goal is to reach as many young people as possible and support better lives through sport, relationships, and strong networks.
Føtex Kolding City’s store manager, Rasmus Bramslund, said the partnership reflects the company’s wish to play an active role in the local community and makes it easy for shoppers to contribute at the checkout area.
KIF Social’s co-founders, Camilita and Tobias, welcomed the initiative, noting that every donation helps fund activities and build a sense of belonging for the young people they work with. They said the backing from a local retailer strengthens their efforts and motivates the team to continue.
Kolding IF’s commercial chief, Michael Flyvholm, described the arrangement as an example of how business and community organizations can work together to create real impact. He emphasized the importance of community support in fostering positive change and enhancing the lives of young individuals.
Kolding IF and KIF Social thanked Føtex Kolding City for the support and said they encourage customers to use the donate option when returning containers. By choosing to donate, shoppers not only contribute to the local initiative but also help in nurturing the next generation through the love of sport.
