New documentary celebrates Florida Panthers' Stanley Cup triumph, premieres October 2

A one-hour documentary chronicling the Florida Panthers’ back-to-back Stanley Cup run debuts Thursday, Oct. 2 on ESPN+, with a television airing Friday, Oct. 3 at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The film will be released in Canada in the coming weeks on Sportsnet, Prime Video, and the league’s YouTube channel.

Exploring the Panthers’ Historic Journey

Produced by NHL Productions, the program traces Florida’s season from key roster moves to the high-pressure moments that ended with the franchise becoming the seventh team in league history to win consecutive championships. It highlights head coach Paul Maurice’s role and the second straight Stanley Cup Final showdown with the Edmonton Oilers, and features behind-the-scenes access, on-ice audio, and interviews with players including Seth Jones, Brad Marchand, Evan Rodrigues, and Sam Reinhart.

ESPN2 will carry re-airs on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 10:30 p.m. ET and Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 3 p.m. ET. Outside North America, broadcasts begin Friday, Oct. 4 through the league’s international partners.

The Panthers closed their 31st NHL season by securing a second Stanley Cup, defeating the Oilers in Florida in a rematch of last year’s Final. The defending champions will open the 2025–26 season on Tuesday, Oct. 7 by raising their championship banner before facing the Chicago Blackhawks. Opening night also includes the Pittsburgh Penguins at the New York Rangers and the LA Kings hosting the Colorado Avalanche.
