On Thursday, the club was awarded five out of five stars after Divisionsforeningen collaborated with an independent firm from the United Kingdom to evaluate the surface based on various technical criteria. This accolade marks the first time the club’s home pitch has achieved such a prestigious five-star score.
The Importance of Quality Playing Surfaces
The assessment revealed that the pitch is in excellent condition, highlighting the successful summer reconstruction, which was executed to a high standard. Furthermore, it noted that maintenance levels have significantly improved. In the Superliga, pitches must undergo testing twice a year to ensure they meet the required standards.
Club management has credited this outstanding result to the substantial investment in the new surface as well as the diligent daily efforts of the grounds team. They are optimistic that the high-quality pitch will not only enhance match days but also improve training sessions, ultimately supporting the team’s preferred style of play. Groundsman Rasmus Lind expressed his satisfaction with the outcome and set a clear goal to maintain the five-star rating in the upcoming winter test. In addition to these efforts, Lind recently attended Turf Tech for the second consecutive year—a specialized event for selected groundskeepers held last weekend in Basel, Switzerland. There, he had the opportunity to exchange innovative ideas with counterparts from prestigious clubs in England, Spain, and Italy. Lind also reviewed the latest equipment in the industry, knowledge he intends to apply in Randers to further enhance the quality of the playing surface.
