Strade Bianche Weekend: Changed routes and increased participation in this year’s race

Strade Bianche Weekend: Celebrating Italian Cycling

The Strade Bianche Weekend was presented in Milan at La Rinascente Piazza Duomo. The event will open the Italian UCI WorldTour Classics season on March 7, organized by RCS Sport, and will be followed on March 8 by the 11th Gran Fondo Strade Bianche Estra.

Exciting Updates for 2023

Both the Strade Bianche Crédit Agricole and the Strade Bianche Women Elite Crédit Agricole will run on updated routes while maintaining the event’s trademark character. Recent editions have delivered standout moments, including Demi Vollering’s second triumph in Siena’s Piazza del Campo and last year’s solo win by reigning world champion Tadej Pogačar.

The men’s race will cover 201 km, with gravel sectors reduced from 16 to 14, totaling 64.1 km on the white roads. The women’s course will also lose two sectors, running 131 km overall with 33 km of gravel. These adjustments are designed to enhance the experience for both participants and spectators alike.

The weekend in the Crete Senesi begins on March 6 with team presentations inside the Fortezza Medicea and concludes on March 8 with the Gran Fondo Strade Bianche Estra, a mass-participation fixture that continues to grow in stature. Entries have already exceeded previous records, highlighting the increasing popularity of this iconic cycling event.

As the anticipation builds for the Strade Bianche Weekend, cycling enthusiasts from around the world are gearing up to witness the breathtaking landscapes and fierce competition that define this extraordinary event. Whether you’re a participant or a spectator, this weekend promises unforgettable moments in the world of cycling.
