FC Midtjylland has made a significant move by signing left back Victor Bak to a new five-year contract that extends until the summer of 2030. The 21-year-old player, who is a product of the club’s academy, initially joined the team through their partner side IF Nordthy.
Victor Bak’s Journey and Development
Since joining Midtjylland, Bak has already made an impressive 74 first-team appearances and boasts a Danish league title to his name. His development path included loan spells at Hobro and Mafra, which played a crucial role in his growth as he transitioned into the senior squad over the past year. Following a contract extension in January 2023, Bak aimed to solidify his place in the team and has been performing consistently, with a strong desire to keep enhancing his skills.
Sporting director Kristian Bach Bak expressed that the new agreement is advantageous for both the player and the club. He emphasized Bak’s remarkable journey from the youth ranks to the first team, highlighting his professionalism and meticulous attention to detail. The sporting director praised Bak’s work ethic and his ability to embody the playing style that Midtjylland aims to promote.
As Bak continues to develop, he is particularly focused on improving his contributions in the attacking phase of the game, specifically in terms of goals and assists. He has observed former teammates making successful moves to major European leagues and aspires to follow in their footsteps. For now, Bak believes that FC Midtjylland is the ideal environment for his ongoing development.
The sporting director also noted that continuous improvement is expected from all players at the club. Enhancing Bak’s performance in the final third will not only support his personal ambitions but also align with the overall goals of Midtjylland.
To date, Bak has recorded one goal and four assists for the first team. Additionally, he has represented Denmark’s Under-21s, earning eight caps during a stint that concluded this summer at the European Championship held in Slovakia.
