Aral Simsir transfers from FC Midtjylland to Trabzonspor in a career leap

After nearly a decade at FC Midtjylland, 24-year-old Aral Simsir is moving to Trabzonspor in Turkey. The Super Lig club, which finished third and won the domestic cup last season, has reached an agreement to sign the attacking midfielder following what Midtjylland describes as his best campaign to date.

Aral Simsir’s Journey in Football

Midtjylland says the transfer follows a long-term plan mapped out with the player and his representatives, pointing to his persistence through loan spells and difficult periods before establishing himself as a key figure. Simsir joined Midtjylland at 15 and leaves having made 145 first-team appearances. He scored 26 goals, provided 40 assists, and won four trophies with the club. He developed into one of the Danish Superliga’s standout performers and was named Player of the Year in the 3F Superliga by several independent media outlets. In June, he made his senior debut for Turkey.

His rise was not straightforward. A year on loan in Norway preceded his breakthrough, an experience he has credited with helping him mature before returning to become a regular starter. He has highlighted Midtjylland’s 2024 league title as the standout moment of his time at the club.

Simsir now heads to the Turkish Super Lig, where he will be a teammate of former Midtjylland striker Paul Onuachu at Trabzonspor. He described his farewell as overwhelming, expressed gratitude for his years in Herning, and said he intends to maintain close ties with Midtjylland. The transition to a new league offers Simsir a fresh opportunity to showcase his skills and continue his development as a player.

This move to Trabzonspor is a significant step in Aral Simsir’s career, allowing him to compete at a higher level and contribute to a club with a rich history in Turkish football. Fans are eager to see how he will adapt and perform in the Super Lig, where he aims to replicate and build upon his successes at FC Midtjylland.
