ATP Tour tennis is making a highly anticipated return to Winston-Salem this August, featuring an exciting hard-court ATP 250 event hosted at Wake Forest University in the United States. The tournament runs from August 23 to August 29, showcasing top talents in the world of tennis. Leading the entrant list this year are promising players such as Luciano Darderi, Arthur Rinderknech, and Alejandro Tabilo. The event is organized by tournament director Jeff Ryan, who is committed to ensuring a memorable experience for both players and fans.

Event Schedule and Highlights

Qualifying rounds are set to take place on Saturday, August 22 at 11 a.m. and Sunday, August 23 at 1 p.m. local time (EDT). The main draw action kicks off on Sunday, August 23, with matches scheduled for 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. The tournament continues from Monday, August 24 through Friday, August 28, with sessions starting at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tennis enthusiasts can look forward to the doubles final on Saturday, August 29 at 1:30 p.m., followed by the singles final at 4 p.m.

Last year’s tournament saw Marton Fucsovics clinch the singles title, defeating Botic van de Zandschulp with a score of 6-3, 7-6(3). In the doubles category, Marcelo Melo and Rafael Matos triumphed over Francisco Cabral and Lucas Miedler with a close match ending at 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.

Winston-Salem has a rich history, with notable event records including John Isner’s two titles, making him the most successful player in the tournament’s history. The oldest champion is Adrian Mannarino, who won at the age of 34 in 2022, while Hubert Hurkacz holds the record as the youngest champion, winning at just 22 years old in 2019. John Isner also holds the title for the highest-ranked winner at No. 10 in 2012, while Marton Fucsovics takes the distinction of the lowest-ranked winner at No. 94 in 2025. Remarkably, the most recent home-country champion is John Isner himself, crowned in 2012. Additionally, Pablo Carreno Busta holds the impressive record for the most match wins at the tournament, totaling 20 victories.
