As preparations begin for a new campaign, AGF Talent has named its U19 and U17 Players of the Year for the 2025/26 season: Oskar Haugstrup and Johan Mejer.
Outstanding Performances Recognized
Haugstrup takes the U19 honor after a standout year. The 19-year-old, who extended his contract in February, split his time between the U19 setup and the Superliga squad, earning minutes and places in matchday groups. Coaches point to his strong technical level, professionalism, and ability to manage the demands of moving between two teams. An academy product who joined AGF from ASA as a child, he has been promoted permanently to the first-team squad while remaining age-eligible for U19 matches next season.
Meanwhile, Mejer receives the U17 award. The 17-year-old center back, captain of the U17s and a former AC Horsens player, impressed with his pace, physical strength, and consistent progress. He featured for both U17 and U19 during the season and will step up to the U19 squad in the coming campaign, with staff expecting his development to continue.
The awards are selected by the coaching staff and leadership at AGF Talent and are represented by a traveling trophy. This recognition not only highlights the individual talents of Haugstrup and Mejer but also emphasizes the strong youth development program in place at AGF. By nurturing young talents, AGF Talent is positioning itself as a key player in the future of Danish football.
As the new season approaches, the spotlight will remain on these promising athletes. Fans and coaches alike are eager to see how they will impact their respective teams, especially with Haugstrup’s transition to the first team and Mejer’s upcoming move to the U19 squad. The commitment and hard work demonstrated by both players serve as an inspiration for their peers and a testament to the quality of training and competition available at AGF.
