FC Fredericia has brought back striker Asbjørn Bøndergaard on a permanent deal, signing the 22-year-old to a five-year contract that runs until the summer of 2031.
Asbjørn Bøndergaard’s Impact at FC Fredericia
Bøndergaard is a familiar face at Monjasa Park. During the 2024/25 season, he was on loan at Fredericia and became one of the standout performers in the club’s historic promotion to the Danish Superliga, scoring 17 goals in 25 matches.
Following that promotion, he returned to Silkeborg IF before moving to Lyngby Boldklub in January 2026. Over the next half-season, he produced five goals and three assists, helping Lyngby win promotion to the top flight—his second promotion in as many seasons.
Club officials framed the long-term agreement as a statement of intent, highlighting Bøndergaard’s age, proven scoring record at senior level, and room for further development. Leadership also noted they had targeted a reunion since his departure and believe he returns as a more experienced player after back-to-back promotions.
Bøndergaard described the move as a meaningful return, saying he still had more to achieve in Fredericia. He pointed to the club’s progress over the past year and arrives determined to keep scoring and help deliver wins, while looking forward to reconnecting with fans and teammates.
Earlier in his career, Bøndergaard scored 22 goals in 24 league matches for Silkeborg’s U19s and has made 20 appearances for Denmark’s youth national teams. His impressive track record and experience at various levels of competitive football make him a valuable asset to FC Fredericia.
He could make his first appearance of the new spell on Saturday, when Fredericia hosts EfB. Fans are eager to see Bøndergaard’s return to the pitch and how he will contribute to the team’s success in the upcoming season.
