Brøndby IF presents a new leadership group with Binks as captain and Wass as club captain

Brøndby IF has set a new leadership structure for the 2026/27 season to strengthen the culture, standards, and day-to-day work around the first team. This strategic move aims to enhance team dynamics and foster a more collaborative environment on and off the pitch.

New Leadership Appointments at Brøndby IF

Luis Binks has been appointed captain, with Bartosz Slisz named vice-captain. Daniel Wass transitions into the role of club captain, focusing on continuity and the development of the next generation of leaders. Binks takes over the armband from Wass, marking a significant shift in leadership within the team.

The leadership group also includes Patrick Mortensen, Mats Köhlert, Mads Frøkjær, and Jacob Ambæk, who represents the club’s Masterclass players. This diverse group is designed to bring a mix of personalities, experience, and leadership styles that will positively influence training sessions, the dressing room atmosphere, and performance during match days.

The recent appointments followed a collaborative pre-season process involving head coach Thomas Nørgaard, the coaching staff, and football director Julius Ohnesorge. By distributing ownership and responsibility across several players rather than concentrating it in one individual, Brøndby IF aims to help the team set high standards, support and challenge each other, and develop a player-led environment that truly reflects the club’s values and identity.

As club captain, Daniel Wass is expected to uphold the standards and values of Brøndby IF both on and off the pitch. His role is crucial as a cultural anchor, representing the club externally and strengthening the connection between the first team and the broader community.

Brøndby IF’s leadership group for the 2026/27 season is as follows:

  • Luis Binks (captain)
  • Bartosz Slisz (vice-captain)
  • Daniel Wass (club captain)
  • Patrick Mortensen
  • Mats Köhlert
  • Mads Frøkjær
  • Jacob Ambæk

This new leadership structure at Brøndby IF is designed to create a more cohesive unit, paving the way for a successful season ahead while staying true to the club’s rich heritage.
