Swedish defender Eric Kahl has signed a new contract with AGF that runs until the summer of 2029, nearly five years after he arrived at the club. The deal adds three years to his previous agreement.
The extension follows a standout season in which Kahl played every league match as AGF won the Danish Superliga title. He also made six appearances in the Danish Cup, bringing his total to 38 games for the campaign.
Eric Kahl’s Journey with AGF
Kahl, 24, made his AGF debut on August 1, 2021, after moving from AIK Stockholm. He has now played 165 matches for the Aarhus side, surpassing Niklas Backman as the Swedish player with the most appearances in the club’s history. Over the past season, he drew consistent praise from supporters and neutral observers alike.
AGF described Kahl as a key figure in the team’s recent success, highlighting his development, professionalism, and influence within the squad. The club noted that securing his future was an important step ahead of Champions League qualifying later this summer.
Kahl and the rest of the AGF squad are currently on summer break and are due to report back on June 16 to begin preparations for the new season. This new contract not only reflects Kahl’s value to AGF but also sets the stage for what promises to be an exciting future for both the player and the club.
As AGF fans look forward to the upcoming season, Eric Kahl’s commitment will undoubtedly be a source of inspiration and strength for the team.
