FC Midtjylland’s women’s teams spent Tuesday evening on the road across the region, running joint training sessions with 330 young players from ten partner clubs and putting the spotlight on teamwork. This initiative not only fosters skills in young athletes but also builds a sense of community and collaboration among aspiring footballers.
Empowering Young Athletes Through Teamwork
The club’s A-League and U19 squads split up to visit Bording IF, Hanstholm IF, Herborg UF, Mejrup GU, Snejbjerg SG&I, Spjald IF, Sunds IF, Tangsø FS, Tarm IF, and Tjørring IF. At Tjørring, four FC Midtjylland players with roots in the club — Maria Herdel, Andrea Jeppesen, Lærke Mølholm, and Ida Tranberg Hougaard — took part in the training sessions and emphasized how supporting one another makes football both easier and more enjoyable. Around 50 local players joined the session there, gaining invaluable experience and insights from their role models.
Tjørring IF reported strong enthusiasm among its girls’ teams, noting how motivating it was to train alongside top-flight players and to see a former Tjørring player now representing FC Midtjylland. Such interactions not only inspire the young athletes but also encourage them to pursue their football dreams with dedication and passion.
As a thank-you, FC Midtjylland players handed out special teddy bears to their new teammates, produced in collaboration with the women’s team’s main sponsor, itm8. This gesture fostered a spirit of camaraderie and made the training sessions even more memorable for the young participants.
All 330 participants have been invited to walk onto the pitch with FC Midtjylland’s A-League side before the match against F.C. København at MCH Arena on Sunday, 27 September, at 1:00 p.m. This opportunity allows these young players to experience the thrill of being part of a professional match day, further igniting their passion for football.
