AGF will part company with Swedish defender Felix Beijmo when his contract expires this summer. The 3F Superliga side is currently on its summer break and is due back in training in about three weeks, by which time Beijmo will have left the squad.
The 28-year-old has chosen not to extend his deal. He said he is ready for a new challenge at this stage of his career and expressed gratitude to the club, coaches, teammates, and supporters. He highlighted the past season, which ended with AGF winning the Danish championship, as a standout moment. Beijmo has not yet announced his next destination.
Felix Beijmo’s Journey with AGF
Beijmo joined AGF on loan from Malmö FF in January 2023. The move became a permanent three-year contract in the summer of 2023, which now runs out. During his time in Aarhus, Beijmo made 120 appearances and scored 10 goals. Along with this season’s league title, he helped AGF to bronze medals, played in European competition, and reached the Danish Cup final in 2024.
AGF’s football director, Carsten V. Jensen, said the club wanted to keep Beijmo and acted on that intention, but respects his decision to move on. The club thanked him for his professionalism, leadership, and competitive edge, and wished him well.
As the summer transfer window approaches, many fans and analysts are eager to see where Beijmo might land next. With his impressive track record and experience in both domestic and European competitions, the defender is expected to attract interest from several clubs looking to strengthen their squads. Beijmo’s future will certainly be a topic of discussion among football enthusiasts in the coming months.
