Registration is open for the second World Youth Chess Solving Championship, scheduled for June 16, 2026, in Montesilvano, Italy, with a 10:00 local start. This prestigious event is organized by FIDE, the World Federation for Chess Composition, in cooperation with the Italian Chess Federation and UniChess.

Event Details and Competition Format

The competition will take place between the first and second rounds of the World Youth Chess Championship and will feature the same age groups: under 14, under 16, and under 18. Separate standings will be maintained for both Open and Girls sections, allowing participants in the Girls section the option to compete in the Open category if they inform the organizers beforehand.

Each age category will work on a unique set of eight problems, which will include three mates in two moves, two in three moves, one in four moves, and two endgames. Competitors will have 90 minutes to complete their assigned set of problems, testing their skills and creativity in chess problem-solving.

The participation fee for this exciting event is €25 per person. The venue for the championship will be the same location used for the World Youth Chess Championship 2026, ensuring a cohesive and vibrant atmosphere for all young chess enthusiasts.
