Defending champion Jannik Sinner has withdrawn from the China Open in Beijing due to a lingering knee injury. The world No. 1 announced the decision on Friday.
Sinner has not played since winning Wimbledon in July and skipped the entire North American hard-court swing while managing the issue. He expressed disappointment about missing the chance to defend his Beijing title and said he aims to return to competition as soon as possible.
