Luis Binks named captain ahead of the 3F Superliga season opener against AGF

Pre-season Wrap-Up and Upcoming 3F Superliga Kickoff

Pre-season wrapped up on Saturday afternoon with a final warm-up against Hibernian in Edinburgh. The match ended in a 2-1 defeat, but captain Luis Binks pointed to the volume of opportunities created as an encouraging sign ahead of the 3F Superliga kickoff next weekend against AGF.

Looking Ahead to the 3F Superliga

Binks assessed that the team started too slowly in the opening 15 to 20 minutes and quickly found itself on the back foot. He noted the performance improved significantly afterward, with more control of possession and a steady flow of chances. Given that chance creation was a major issue last season, he viewed this as progress. He added that, as a friendly, the result was less important than the performance, but emphasized that the competitive tests begin next week and the target is three points. A strong start to the new season, replicating the positive play while cutting out mistakes, remains the priority.

Earlier in the day, the club unveiled its new leadership group, with Binks included. The center-back, who wears No. 4, will take the captain’s armband and described the role as a significant honor, reflecting what the club means to its community and confirming his determination to keep pushing forward.

Binks also thanked the supporters who traveled to Scotland for the friendly, acknowledging the time and expense involved. He expressed hope of seeing them at the AGF match and said the team is focused on repaying that backing with results. As the new season approaches, the emphasis will be on building momentum and ensuring that the team’s hard work translates into tangible success on the pitch.
