Lyngby Boldklub has appointed 32-year-old Tobias Brogaard as its new Head of Goalkeeping, filling the role left vacant after the recent departure of Thomas “TV” Villadsen. Brogaard joins from Nykøbing FC, where he held the same position.
Brogaard’s Experience and Vision for Lyngby Boldklub
The club said it had worked intensively to complete its coaching setup and highlighted Brogaard’s drive, expertise, and personality, noting similarities to Villadsen, who was also recruited from Nykøbing more than seven years ago.
Brogaard previously enjoyed a lengthy playing career as a goalkeeper with clubs including FREM and AB, and he also had spells in the Faroe Islands and Norway. He ended his playing days at Nykøbing FC before moving into coaching as Head of Goalkeeping.
He conveyed pride in joining a historic Danish club and described himself as hardworking, ambitious, detail-oriented, and curious about both the game and the people in it. He said he is eager to meet his new colleagues and get started.
Brogaard is enrolled in the UEFA GK A course, the highest goalkeeper-coaching qualification in UEFA’s system. Last month, he was part of the Denmark U17 setup at the European Championship in Estonia.
His first day at the club’s base on Lundtoftevej is scheduled for Monday, when the team returns from a training camp in Sweden. Lyngby indicated the appointment concludes a hectic search and credited Nykøbing FC director and former Lyngby player Claus Jensen for smooth cooperation during the process.
During the vacancy, academy goalkeeping coach Valdimar Valdimarsson served as interim with the first team, and the club praised his quick response, including cutting short a holiday to assist. With Brogaard’s arrival, Lyngby Boldklub is poised for a new chapter in its pursuit of excellence on and off the pitch.
