The build for this season has been guided by three priorities: keeping continuity in the squad, maintaining a clear pathway from the academy, and adding experience at Superliga level. The first two have progressed well. Lyngby fielded the youngest team in the league on the opening weekend, and last season homegrown players accounted for a significant share of the minutes, at one point around 60 percent. The remaining focus is to strengthen the side with the right kind of experience.
Attention over the coming weeks will center on that final piece. The club is seeking experienced players who also bring hunger and quality, and will not compromise on fit or attempt a quick fix. If the right profiles are not available, Lyngby is prepared to lean further into its established approach of developing and trusting young talent within a demanding, improvement-driven environment.
The summer arrivals have settled quickly and given the coaching staff more options. Integration has been smooth on and off the pitch, including for Diego, the only newcomer arriving from a different football culture. Several signings are still chasing their first real breakthrough at senior level, and most arrived with limited top-flight experience, so their impact is expected to grow over time.
Movement out of the club remains possible before the deadline. Lyngby’s model embraces both promoting young players and moving them on when the right interest appears. Earlier this summer, Tobias Storm was sold to NEC Nijmegen, and the club acknowledges that more exits could occur in the final month, particularly after winning last season’s 1st Division with one of the youngest squads, a profile that naturally attracts attention.
The overarching ambition aligns with supporters’ expectations: to compete in the Superliga and become more stable over time. Through the first two rounds of the 3F Superliga season, all five new signings have made their debuts. Performances have been encouraging even if the points have not matched the displays, with one point collected in the draw against AGF on Saturday. The club views the early games as a platform to raise standards further in the weeks ahead.
