Obq signs talented Lærke Friis to a two-year contract

OBQ has added 19-year-old midfielder Lærke Friis on a two-year deal, strengthening the squad with a player who already has experience in the A-Liga and with Denmark’s youth national teams.

Friis came through the ranks at SIF Q before moving to Kolding IF, where she signed her first youth contract. After three years in Kolding, she is set to continue her development with OB.

International Experience and Development

On the international stage, she has made 34 appearances for Denmark at U16, U17, and U19 levels, scoring seven goals, including six for the U17s. Despite her age, she has also featured 16 times in the A-Liga.

OB’s women’s sporting director, Mikkel Bo Mikkelsen, welcomed the signing and described Friis as a modern, energetic midfielder with strong ability on the ball and a knack for advancing play. He highlighted her work rate and fit with the team’s style and sees significant potential given her youth international background and top-flight experience. The club expects her to be a strong addition on and off the pitch.

Friis views the move as the right step at this stage of her career, aligning with the club’s values and ambitions. She aims to challenge herself daily, contribute to the team’s progress, and bring a technical, chance-creating profile that prioritizes the collective.

She will join the squad for preseason ahead of the coming campaign, and her addition is anticipated to bolster OB’s midfield options significantly. With her unique skill set and youthful energy, Lærke Friis is poised to make a meaningful impact in the upcoming season.
