AGF have turned Rasmus Carstensen’s loan into a permanent deal, signing the wing-back from 1. FC Köln on a contract running until the summer of 2030.
The 25-year-old made 30 appearances and scored five goals for AGF last season while on loan from the Bundesliga club. He joined the Aarhus side after a previous loan spell in Polish football, and the move has now been completed after AGF and Köln agreed on transfer terms.
Carstensen’s Impact on AGF
AGF described Carstensen as a high-energy wing-back who contributes in attack and works hard for the team, noting his impact both on the pitch and within the squad. The club welcomed having him secured as a full member of the team for the next four years. This move signifies AGF’s commitment to building a competitive squad in the Danish Superliga.
Before arriving in Aarhus, Carstensen played for Lech Poznań, where he was part of the squad that won the Polish championship last year, recording 15 league appearances and two goals. He previously made 23 Bundesliga appearances for Köln and also featured in Belgium’s top division with KRC Genk after moving from Silkeborg IF in 2022. His diverse experience across different leagues will undoubtedly enhance AGF’s performance in both domestic and European competitions.
Carstensen said he is pleased to make the switch permanent and is grateful for the club’s confidence. He feels settled in Aarhus and is looking ahead to the new season in the Danish Superliga and European competition following the recent title celebrations. This sense of stability will allow him to focus on his game and contribute to AGF’s success in the upcoming season.
As AGF prepares for the challenges ahead, securing a player of Carstensen’s caliber is a significant boost. Fans will be eager to see how his skills and determination translate into performances on the field, especially as the club aims for greater accolades in both national and international arenas.
