Silkeborg IF is making a significant impact on Danish youth football, with players from the club involved in every youth national team during the latest international break. Their performances have been closely monitored as they strive for success on the international stage.
Performance Overview of Silkeborg IF Players in Youth National Teams
At the U21 level, Aske Andresen, Lucas Riisgaard, and Oliver Ross represented Denmark as the team continued its quest for a spot in the 2027 European Championship. Out of these players, only Ross saw action, coming off the bench in the first two matches. Denmark secured a 2-0 victory against Belarus, followed by a 1-1 draw with Austria, and wrapped up the window with a 0-0 stalemate against Belgium. The results have left Denmark’s qualification hopes hanging in the balance, with crucial play-off games on the horizon.
Moving down to the U20s, William Kirk traveled to Spain for two friendlies. He started on the bench in a disappointing 4-1 loss to Brazil but made a notable contribution by starting in the subsequent 3-3 draw against the United States. These matches provided valuable experience for Kirk as he continues to develop his skills on an international level.
For the U19s, William Møller was initially set to participate in three friendlies in Portugal, but unfortunately, he sustained a broken collarbone in the opening game against Austria, which resulted in a 1-0 defeat. Møller was forced to return home early, and his injury will keep him sidelined from the 3F Superliga for a period. The U19s managed to draw 3-3 with Portugal and 1-1 with the Netherlands in the matches that followed.
David Stojanovic represented Denmark at the U18 level in Croatia, where he faced Italy, Croatia, and Saudi Arabia. Stojanovic started in a tough 3-1 loss to Italy, came off the bench in a 4-2 defeat to Croatia, and did not participate in the 6-2 victory over Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, U17 forward Kristian Bloch Bøgild was initially selected for three friendlies but had to withdraw due to a minor injury. Denmark performed impressively in his absence, defeating Qatar 9-0, winning 4-1 against Saudi Arabia, and narrowly losing 1-0 to Portugal.
Finally, in the U16s, Anton Hangaard and Nicklas Haarup took part in matches against Portugal, Turkey, and Romania. Both players started on the bench in the match against Portugal, with Haarup entering during a 2-1 loss. They bounced back by starting in a 2-1 victory over Turkey, while their final match against Romania ended in a 0-0 draw.
The next international window is scheduled to take place from 9 to 17 November, where these young talents will have another opportunity to showcase their abilities and contribute to their national teams.
