Sønderjyske Fodbold’s academy coaches dedicated Monday, 18 May, to an outreach initiative across Southern Jutland, where they led training sessions at various partner clubs while also presenting valuable insights. This event marked a shift from the usual Monday academy training, typically held after weekend matches, to focus on community engagement and knowledge sharing.

Strengthening Local Ties Through Coaching Outreach

The participating teams included Vamdrup IF, Gråsten Boldklub, Hørup UI, Rødekro IF, Hellevad IF, Toftlund IF, Jels IF, and IF Stjernen, all of which welcomed the visiting coaches. Each visit featured an inspiration session centered on a particular theme, which set the stage for subsequent discussions. This strategic approach not only provided practical coaching techniques but also fostered a collaborative learning environment.

Niels Dyngby, the club’s children’s development coach, emphasized the initiative’s purpose: to disseminate the academy’s expertise in quality training for young players, strengthen connections with local clubs, and ensure that the knowledge gained benefits the broader community. Feedback from coaches indicated that this outreach was well-received, and plans are already in place to repeat the effort next year.

Coaches from Hellevad IF reported a strong focus on intensity and pressing during the sessions, with several drills being implemented immediately in their U9 practice the following day, resulting in a notably high-energy environment. This kind of immediate application underscores the practical impact of the sessions.

At Vamdrup IF, staff found the visit to be an invaluable source of inspiration, fostering reflection and debate among their coaching group. Following the on-field work, participants engaged in discussions that explored both Vamdrup’s setup and the academy’s daily routines, allowing trainers to share methods and experiences effectively.

Coaches at Gråsten Boldklub expressed that the visit was particularly beneficial in understanding the academy’s training and motivation strategies. They highlighted that the session introduced new exercises aimed at skill development, which led to increased engagement among their young players. The collaboration was recognized as adding significant value for players and igniting curiosity about the standards necessary for those aspiring to pursue a professional football career.

This outreach initiative exemplifies Sønderjyske Fodbold’s commitment to community engagement and youth development, demonstrating how collaboration can enhance local football standards.
