As domestic leagues take a break and the international window approaches, several players from AGF are gearing up for duty with their national teams at both senior and youth levels. This exciting time not only showcases the talent within the AGF roster but also highlights the growing importance of international competitions.

AGF Players Making Their Mark on the International Stage

Kevin Yakob has earned a spot in Iraq’s World Cup squad, marking a significant achievement in his career. Iraq finds itself in a challenging group that includes football powerhouses like France, Senegal, and Norway. Their campaign kicks off against Norway on June 17, and Yakob will be looking to make a strong impression on the world stage.

While Uganda did not qualify for the World Cup, they are set to play friendlies against Tanzania and Madagascar in Morocco later in June. James Bogere, who made his senior debut this past season, has been called up to represent his country, showcasing the depth of talent at AGF.

In a notable performance, Tómas Óli Kristjánsson scored the final two goals in AGF’s emphatic 6-2 victory over Viborg FF in their last match of the season. His outstanding form has earned him a place in Iceland’s under-19 team, where he will compete in European Championship qualifiers against Georgia and Montenegro on June 6 and 9.

On the women’s side, AGF is equally represented, with multiple players involved in Denmark’s youth national teams. Alba Jakobsen, Amalie Klausen, and Dagmar Jørgensen have been selected for the under-16 squad, which will travel to the Netherlands for two friendlies against the host nation and Norway in early June. Additionally, Sophia Parkegaard has been called up to the under-19 squad for a friendly match in Wales.

Denmark’s under-23 team is also set to face Germany in two friendly matches in Halle and Leipzig from June 4 to 8. AGF players Marie Gade, Elvira Nejmann, and Julie Mathiasen will be representing their club in these important fixtures, further highlighting AGF’s commitment to developing talent across various levels of international competition.

This international window presents a fantastic opportunity for AGF players to shine on a global stage and gain invaluable experience that will enhance their skills for future club and country competitions.
